what to use with a pack n play combo bassinet?
I dont have any children but i do sometimes babysit my little niece, her mom needs to work late at night sometimes and the dad isnt around so i volunteered to watch the little one. I didnt want to buy a crib, because the baby is small and wieghs less then 15 lbs. plus she is only there a few times. I bought one of those pack n plays which is in combo with a changing station and bassinet. When i set it up the pack n play it came with a "thin cardboardy" so called mattress, i was wondering is that comfortable for the baby, or can i add a mattress in it if so where can i buy one, one person told me not to add it but i dont know, also at night can i use a blanket and pillows some one also told me not too but what if it gets cold.
You really shouldn't change the mattress that came with the crib. Especially when the baby is under a year old. There could be a suffocation danger if you put something too soft, or not the right size in there. You can use a blanket, just not pillows. It's best to dress the baby in a warm sleeper, then you don't need heavy blankets. If you are putting a toddler to sleep in that kind of crib, you can use a small pillow. Good luck.
