Fang Trigger
Can you help me choose my 1st Tippmann?
Hi. I can get a Custom Pro 98 with WAS board, Double Trigger, long barrel, & drop forward for $250 (used, most likely, and I'd need to buy a loader still). Although this sounds like a decent deal, I've heard horror stories of these boards developing a run-away firing problem.
So I was thinking I might be better off buying a new stock A5, and install a Response Trigger kit along with a Fang trigger. Yeah, this will cost substantially more, but at least I'll have warranty & be able to play in the rain (which is what the weather does most of the time where I live). What kind of firing rate could I pull off walking this trigger set-up?
Response trigger can achieve the same firing rate as the E-Grip, just without the extra modes (although the RT has a "sweet spot," in which you can simulate full-auto if you hold the trigger at a certain point). The A-5 also has the advantage of not needing a separate loader, as the Cyclone feeding system is already installed.
Plus, the 98 Custom Pro w/ those upgrades is not worth $250 used. $200 max. And a long barrel, depending on how long, could hinder performance rather than help (like a 21" barrel will do nothing but reduce distance & waste more air/gas).
